Fashion Is “Unity in Improving the Oceans” Powered by Rio Ethical Fashion
Description

Do you know that fashion has a strong role in improving the Ocean? As data shows, the fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world. From its production process to its disposal, millions of tons of waste are produced and disposed of unconsciously. Therefore, It’s essential that we support brands that “are not part of the problem, but actually the solution”, as Lara Iwanicki, Marine Scientist at Ocean, said. She moderated the panel in which the audience also heard Emily Ewell, CEO & Co-Founder of Pantys; Maya Gabeira, Guinness World Record Holder of Largest Wave Surfed by a Woman (68 feet); Amanda Gomes, Co-Founder of Satya Beachwear; and Fe Cortez, Environmental Activist & Founder of Menos 1 Lixo. Among the important topics that were discussed, they highlighted the role of industry in environmental pollution and how important it is to make the way of production change, but at the same time make people more aware.
