Fashion Talks and Podcasts: Fashiontalks

The aptly named Fashiontalks is a podcast in partnership with the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards. The podcast is hosted by Donna Bishop, who has a background in the fashion, beauty, and media industries. 

Fashiontalks is notable for the variety of guests it hosts. Subscribers to this podcast can hear from fashion designers, CEOs, photographers, stylists, and more. These guests provide valuable insight into the world of fashion. Fashiontalks is one podcast that will keep you up to date in the fashion industry.

Fashion Talks and Podcasts: Conscious Chatter

Another podcast worth paying attention to is Conscious Chatter. It is hosted by Kestrel Jenkins, who has experience working with sustainable fabrics. This podcast emphasizes sustainability. It covers a variety of topics, from tips on how to be more mindful about the consumption of shoes, to ethical fashion. Women in the fashion industry are featured in this podcast. Fashion Takes Action

The non-profit company Fashion Takes Action has created an annual World Ethical Apparel Roundtable (WEAR) conference. This conference talks about the best practices, challenges, and successes in the fashion industry. The conference has been postponed until further notice. However, they offer free monthly webinar WEAR sessions. Each session focuses on a different, specific topic within the fashion industry. 

Later this month, the WEAR webinar series will focus on innovation and sustainability, two topics that are highly relevant in the fashion industry. This series will be four sessions long, and each session will last an hour. The first session will highlight what still needs to be done in the fashion industry in order to achieve net zero emission by 2050. The next session will show how different fashion brands are using more sustainable and innovative materials. The third session will focus on sustainable faux fur production, in particular the material known as Sorona, which can be mechanically recycled. The fourth session will look to the future in terms of the plants that are now being used to create sustainable materials. 

Fashion Talks and Podcasts: DHL

The worldwide shipping company DHL also hosts a series of first-class events and webinars. Their upcoming webinar, on May 20th at 3:30 p.m. CET (9:30 a.m. EST), will focus on sustainability goals in the wake of the pandemic. According to them, because of the pandemic, 29 billion disposable masks and 65 billion gloves are being used globally every month. Topics discussed will include the best practices to meet sustainability goals, as well as new innovations in the fashion industry and de-carbonization of supply chains.
